It is a very busy time of the year…

This week we are working to finish ISAT’s for the 8th through 10 grade… scheduling Donkey Basketball for a 4-H fundraiser… High school and middle school track meets… Field trips… and, oh yes.. some productive academic time!!

Welcome back everyone after the Spring Break.

I hope you all had a great holiday. I certainly did and I realise more and more how thankful I am to such an awesome family!

Monday will be getting-back-in-the-grove time!  Thankfully we have a four-day school week!!

This is the start of the final nine weeks… it will zooooom by, so stay engaged and on task!!  Finish Strong!

Next Monday – April 9th – ISAT testing will begin for 8th – 11th graders.  Testing will be spread over two week to help minimize disruption in core classes.

Parents and Students
Meadows Valley invited our school to their Academic Quiz Bowl Meet for 6th -8th graders on Tuesday, March 20th. The competition will begin at 10:00 am and should conclude by 11:30 am. The bus will leave Salmon River at 9:00 and should return approximately 12:20 pm.

Today is a “Travel Day”  for the Dual-Credit Chemistry students as they head to Lewiston and LCSC to complete the lab portion of the class.  We also made available a campus visit for the Sophomore class.  Should be a fun-filled and valuable experience.  Photo’s to follow!

Showing up is prerequisite to success in anything that we do.  Data shows that students who typically have more than 5 absences or 5 tardies have lower grades than their peers.  Being late to class, even occasionally can make it challenging to get all the information needed to be successful in class, as the introduction to the day’s lesson happens when the bell rings.

Binders, and other organizational tools can help students stay on track in their class.  Many families take a few minutes each week to talk to their student about their Binder and see the work that is being done in class.

There are many opportunities for students to Get Extra Help. After school, students are welcome to attend ASK and use it for a Study Hall.  Staff are available to help with math or other subject areas that students need extra support in.  Teachers also will take time during the week to assist students who need extra help – All a student has to do – is ask!

Checking PowerSchool is a great way to stay informed on how your student is doing in class.  There is information about attendance, current grades, and many teachers attach classroom assignment to their grade books.  If you need help accessing PowerSchool, please call our office.
